Cozy Start Of The Work Day

I took this shot at 6:42 this morning in the pitchdark train.

Here's the story:
My train arrived in time at 6:30. We climbed in, sat down and - nothing happened.
It was the silence of the engines and the air condition we noticed first - still standing at my train station.
About a minute later the lights went out - only the emergency lights at the doors still working. The train driver asked us to stay calm - in a few minutes he would try to start the engines again.
Seconds later the emergency lights also went out and we were sitting in the darkness, the only light provided by some platform lanterns shining through the windows. And the doors were locked!
One of the train attendents then walked down the aisles (no speakers working anymore), again asking us to stay calm. The train driver was still trying to start the engine....

We waited in the darkness - almost 30 minutes. Nothing happened.
Then again he walked down the aisle, asking us all to get out (doors now open!).
Hundreds of commuters then worked their way out of the dark train, through the underpass and to the other platform, where minutes later(!) the next train appeared.

What have I learned?
It is possible to squeeze two train load of commuters in the main hours of commuter traffic into one train and only arrive an hour late at work.

And the best thing:
By chance I was one of the first ones in the newly arriving (already crowded) train and happened to enter the door in front of the 1. class section, where 2 seats still had been empty (who would believe that???)!
Guess how I was travelling to work this morning - late but 1. class.
And 1. class for the very first time - life is good!
