Blue tit

At long last my scaffolding has been removed so I can take photos of the birds again. There were two young blue tits that had hardly any feathers on their heads today. I saw a programme about birds that said birds can see more colours then we can. They can see ultra violet- we cannot. So to a blue tit the male and the female are very different colours. The male has a vibrant ultra violet cap that is absent in the female. To us they look the same- just about. Personally I cannot tell the difference. Apparently it hinges on the depth of the chest and where the cap starts.
