Manchester's festive season got underway tonight with thousands of people flooding Albert Square to see X Factor's James Arthur perform and push the button to officially launch the city's Christmas celebrations. A ten-minute fireworks finale closed the show. Over 25,000 people watched the spectacle live in Albert Square and on screens in Spinningfields and Exchange Square.
