Or Lapwings, Northern Plovers or Peewits even! Lots of dialect and local names for them, I'm sure. They are unmistakable birds, so striking with their colouring, head feathers and their call. Now that the cattle are in for the winter the fields are full of them, interspersed with curlews.

Busy day today, swimming, shopping, hospital visiting, dog walking and then dancing! Good job I don't have a job as well!
