Urban waterways

As you will see from this image, the longboat is almost in the centre of Glasgow, well almost. It's at Speirs Wharf in Port Dundas - the area around where the boat is berthed was once a power station which was fed by coal brought on barges like this one.

There is loads of money being pumped into regenerating the Forth and Clyde canal and surrounding quayside buildings.

I think this is a good way to spend public cash - the canal brings a whole different perspective to the urban landscape I reckon and it would be great to see it become vibrant once again.
