THE HOMECOMING

This war memorial by Robert Tait McKenzie, was originally built to commemorate World War One, 1914-1918, and unveiled in July 1922. The inscription was updated for World War Two, 1939-1945. It is called 'The Homecoming' and the soldier is looking towards the train station. It is situated on Hills Road, Cambridge, originally in the middle of a busy road, but now moved slightly to a place nearby outside the Botanical Gardens.
