Light & sight

Day 1

Long day but now I am here at Lumb Bank, a mile or two from Hebden Bridge and Heptonstall, and not that far from Burnley either. Hebden Bridge is all boutiquey shops with a self-conscious small town air, and as for Heptonstall, think cobblestones and limestone farmhouses. We are at the bottom of a steep country lane, so narrow that the taxi driver had to stop and reverse out of the way of oncoming cars not once but twice while we were heading down. I am looking forward to seeing the landscape around here in daylight, when tonight's drizzly mist has lifted.
But in the meantime, I have drunk a glass or two of red wine (rather strong), had several rambling chats with other attendees, dined on veggy curry and been asked a few probing questions about my life and motivations....tomorrow the writing!
