A frayed flag

This flag is perfectly situated for running repairs once the shop opens. Its hem isn't too bad at the moment, but we are running into winter now and the damage will only get worse.

While we are waiting, you can all take part in the competition to identify which part of the world this flag represents. Those of you who follow the Eurovision Song contest will recognise it immediately. Others, who perhaps have better things to do with their Saturday night, might need some help.*

* Its the flag of Azerbaijan. They achieved the glorious distinction of hosting the 2012 contest as a reward (?) for winning the contest in 2011. Surely this flag hasn't been hanging out there for the past two years?
