in His own image

This afternoon I was visiting a friend in hospital and thought I would take some photos of this tapestry, which hangs outside the surgical wards. It was made by Patricia Shaw (1920-1983), whose husband was an obstetrician at the hospital.

The tapestry is part of a collection called The Seven Days of Creation, inspired by the work of Crick and Watson on the DNA molecule. This particular work represents the Sixth Day of Creation in the Book of Genesis, when God made Man.
