Yew apples

When I retired I was overwhelmed by the number of gifts , cards and good wishes for a happy retirement. One of my flock was a lovely guy called Alan who had trained as a shipwright originally but ended his working life being in charge of school buildings in the area. He is keen on wood turning and brought me these two apples that he had made. He told me that they were from a 1500 year old yew tree on the Sandringham estate . They are lovely to hold and I was very touched that he had made them for me. One of my real treasures.
