Calton Hill from Newhaven

We went on a cycle on the Roseburn cycle path, down to the Red Bridge and on to Newhaven. I've never been in all the new build on the foreshore at Granton or Newhaven, and very interesting it is too. In amongst the new apartments, are areas of waste ground and great bird life. We saw Curlews foraging in the wetlands, looking across to Leith Docks along with Oystercatchers and Redshank on the shore.
This is a somewhat unusual view of the city with a juxtaposition of boat, sandstone tenements near the shore and the familiar, (if you live in Edinburgh), skyline of Calton Hill. The shore is well worth another visit.
