An African Souvenir

I don't envy the ostrich who had to lay this egg!

We bought this beautifully hand painted souvenir about 20 years ago, on our first trip to South Africa. It was an interesting time to visit, as apartheid had recently ended. Johannesburg had a very raw edge, and was quite a dangerous place to be. We also visited Cape Town -- a beautiful city, and went on safari in Pilanesberg National Park. All in all a truly memorable trip.
