Dog

The last time I saw my husband right here with a brand new (to us) dog, a big pick up truck pulled up with a family claiming our new dog was theirs. While the dog may have been theirs, they had clearly taken poor care of it. But not wanting to steal anyone's dog, we handed him over along with his new leash, collar, and vet bills for vaccines and such. Although we hadn't known the dog for long, the loss stung.

A friend called me last night saying she had found out perfect dog. We duly checked her our today and had to admit that she met all the basic criteria. She is fully grown (we think) and awfully sweet. But she has lived on the streets for a long time and has no house or cat manners. Our cats are petrified. Will they ever forgive us?
