Glowing

Carlisle Cathedral is the second smallest cathedral in England (after Oxford), but it is one of the oldest. It is classed as an Ancient Cathedral, as it has had the status since medieval times, being founded in 1133. Battered by years of conflict, it still has some lovely features. I blipped the beautiful painted ceiling here. It is built of red sandstone, which was positively glowing in the sunshine as I passed it this morning.
