Stoor and treasure

I went for a rummage in my parents' attic looking for old photos. I want to put together a memory book for them, as sadly they have lost their own memories somewhere along the way.

It's a very long time since anyone has been up there, and everything was covered in cobwebs and mildew.

In amongst the dust and muck, I found an old floral cake decoration, made by my mother out of icing sugar. I've no idea whether it was for a family wedding cake, or an anniversary, or a birthday - but it was clearly special enough for mum to have kept it - and for many years, from the state of it.
