Kai sprung one on me as we walked through the park today....


Kai: 'Mummy, where was I before I was in your tummy?'

Me: 'You weren't made yet.'

Kai: 'So how did I get in your tummy?'

Me: 'erm...erm....'
(Laughs and stalls for time and inspiration.....!)

Me: (eventually) 'I'll tell you when you're bigger!'

Kai. 'But I want to know now! How? Tell me how?'

Me: 'Well...erm...mummy and daddy had a special cuddle and then you were in my tummy...'

Kai: (Puzzled) 'Was it kind of like magic?

Me: 'Yes. Exactly! Kind of like magic!'


Quick as a beat he then changed the subject. Phew!
I wasn't prepared for the birds and bees talk at 4 years!!
