Rushing through

We reserved this afternoon for a relaxed wander across the Yorkshire Dales from west to east, with our endpoint and goal being The Blue Lion Inn in East Witton. First impressions of the place are very good indeed, although we haven't yet tried any of the facilities apart from the bathroom. We may be heading for the bar very soon indeed.

Hawes was a lovely place to stop for a cup of tea and a blip. Here is Gayle Beck rushing down to the River Ure which, paradoxically, is the river that runs through Wensleydale. I think Hawes and East Witton will both be famous next year for being on the route of Stage 1 of the Tour de France as part of 'Le Grand Depart 2014'.
