Lunch in São Paulo

Leo and I travelled from Campinas to São Paulo this morning. We caught up with Jose, who had travelled down last night. He had a meeting in the evening.

We phoned Rodrigo, the boss of the company we have been working with this week.

He had kindly offered to show us some of São Paulo. We only had a couple of hours before Leo's flight. Rodrigo drove us to a little traditional restaurant he knows. We took in a few sights on the way.

One would never chance across a place like this as a tourist, but it is near a company Rodrigo used to visit.

We ate some superb Brazilian food and a shot or two of Cachaca, a fermented sugar cane spirit

WOW!

Potent stuff

I am now sat at the airport having said goodbye to the others. Rodrigo is off to the beach to catch up with his family as it's a national holiday weekend. Leo has headed home, flying to Rio then sitting on a bus for 6 or more hours. Jose has just got on a plane for Lisbon and then a connection to Porto.

I have another 3 hours before I get on a plane for Amsterdam (sans in-flight entertainment!). Then a connection to Manchester After that a mere 2 hours in a taxi, hopefully getting through the door late Saturday afternoon.

A whole week at home before heading to Budapest.
