Why Be Serious?

Saving up time

The thing is, or perhaps it should be, that we rarely truly understand the concept of time. We can measure it, but lack anyway of controlling it. A clock is nothing but an appliance that shows us time going forwards but cannot actually interact with the seconds - they are forever slipping away...

Our perception of time changes depending upon what we are doing (and how we feel), you can blink and lose an hour or the very minutes could be drawn out into almost infinite pause. And it is not just the seconds or minutes, months can fly by with naught but a tipping of the hat towards you.

As much as a clock, or in my case a watch, can symbolise time it also tries to cage the impossible - we try to give a true perceptionless value. Nature, as in many things, does it better....

Although the actual photo was shot in full colour, I converted it to black and white to reflect my mood at the time (all dark and grey - it seems that I'm slipping back after my manic turn)...
