Mince Pie Syndrome

This a Red Legged Partridge.

Today has been lovely. I spent the day with a friend catching up and having a giggle. I went over in the morning and we planned our days activities over a cup of tea. We decided to go to the Christmas Bazaar that was being held in the local town hall. We arrived just as they were beginning to clear everything away and close up but we had paid a pound to enter to get a free cup of tea and mince pie (the first of the season). So we gave up on the stalls and went downstairs for our treat. We then discovered that the last two mince pies had just been given out and they could only offer us biscuits - a rather poor substitute. We were just a few minutes too late - this turned out to be the theme of the day and became known as the mince pie syndrome.

We then headed out to a lovely garden centre which had a great restaurant and promised sightings of deer from the hide in the grounds. We arrived at the hide just as two deer had been sighted and were leaving. We sat and waited in anticipation of their return, but they had clearly decided to have a wonder about. So we decided to have lunch, a look round the shop and then head back to the hide hoping to spot them at tea time. Unfortunately the deer were clearly busy having a cup of tea and meeting somewhere else as they did not turn. We did spend a lot of time watching the many pheasants, partridges, robins, blue tits and other birds which was lovely. Photographing them proved rather tricky as they don't like to stay still and pose. So this is the best of the bunch.

It was a great day and lovely to see my friend.

Borgen is back on the telly tonight. I love this show and think that she is brilliant.
