Remembrance Day

I normally keep Remembrance Day at arm's length, but this year we attended the parade in Fareham, near Portsmouth. G's brother-in-law Ian is a member of the RAF, so we went with him and Caroline, and there were many other members of the armed forces in the crowd watching the parade and ceremony as well. It was a surprise to see just how much public religious involvement there was, and to be honest I found it pretty distasteful. The parade though I found very impressive, even though my personal feelings about the national celebration remain mixed.
