Adam Thomas Moore

This morning we attended the christening of Adam Thomas Moore at Inverkip Parish Church. Adam is the son of Kirsty and Barry and Kirsty is a school friend of our eldest daughter Amy.

It was a lovely ceremony and even more special as Amy had been chosen as one of Adam's godparents. This is a shot outside the Church where Amy is having fun with Adam, as his mum Kirsty looks on.

This is the first time I had been inside the village church. Popular belief is that the church was designed by Thomas Telford who had been commissioned by the Parliament to build 32 ‘Parliamentary Churches. It is more likely that Sir John used the services of William Cairncross, Robert Adam’s assistant, as Cairncross had just completed the building of Ardgowan House. The new kirk was completed in 1806 when the Rev Thomas Brown was Minister of the parish.

After the service we drove over to Gourock Bowling Club for a cebration lunch.

This afternoon I was catching up with some work and then making a Mexican chicken with peanut mole.
