Glen Falls

Kirktonhall Glen in West Kilbride has been quietly going a striking shade of russet for weeks, and is probably at its most autumnal now. It would be nice to think I'd actually caught it in the act, but I have to admit the falling leaves to the right were dropped over my Nikon D300s on its tripod at the same time that I pressed the remote release. Taken late in the afternoon in a dull part of the glen, I had to use a sensitive ISO of 1000 at f3.5, while a shutter speed of 1/250 second was slow enough to preserve some motion blur in the falling leaves and the Glenbride Burn.
