One rupee one sweet - early morning treat

Am being welcomed back by so many people - they leap out of their shops, hands pressed together in a namaste, wide grin on their faces and sparkling eyes. I revisited the place where we lived and found it demolished, a large rather posh shop selling mohair sweaters and a Kashmiri outlet are on our site and the garden where Ajamburi did the washing, washed the babies and herself at the pump is now full of boys on weaving machines, clacking away making scarves for the Kashmiri shop. It all seems rather surreal. My two babies are now at uni but still living at home. For one week I am living in a friend's hotel but after that will go and stay with my family in their new house.

P.S. Just in case you have read anything about problems in Nepal please don't worry. Another bomb went off fairly close by this evening but no one was hurt and it is just Maoists showing off - the elections are tomorrow so all tourists are keeping their heads down and not venturing out of well trodden areas.
