Just feel windsong

I bought this (pictured) 1987 volume in July 1990, and have ever-since just loved this simple verse about cycling:

BIKING

Fingers grip,
toes curl;
head down,
wheels whirl.

Hair streams,
fields race;
ears sting,
winds chase.

Breathe deep,
troubles gone;
just feel
windsong.

------

Encapsulates the sheer joy of cycling in so few words. Wonderful :-)

You can read a bit more about the author, Judith Nicholls, here ...

... P.S. before anyone says it; yes I did have some hair when I first came across this poem :-))
