spoiling them

Not only are this year's intake of students being treated to an asbestos-free library experience but the buggers also have a library café with actual windows letting in actual sunlight stocked with comfy armchairs and fashionable coffee tables rather than the windowless subterranean plastic-chair-and-melamine-table hole serving hideous (but very cheap) coffee which was deemed good enough up until a few years ago.

Rather less fancy were the refreshment facilities at the industrial estate business centre I was at today and at which I shall be for the rest of the week. I'd taken my usual flask of propercoffee so didn't have to scrape the bottom of the tin of coffee for enough instant to make it worth attempting to try and persuade the tap on the manky Burko to emit something. There was also zero mobile reception in the building itself on any network (and certainly not enough for any packet data) but a few feet outside there should be enough to be able to pop out for a few minutes at lunchtime to check for any interesting updates.

It has been decided that people should travel to the training by taxi, though even with five people the fare was way more than it would have been by bus. I had to be back in the town centre fairly earlyish this evening but can use the rest of the week as a perfect excuse for a nice five-mile walk through relatively safe parts of town each evening.
