Auld Kirk Road

This is a street, or I suppose used to be a street, in Cambuslang. The houses that were here ( chilly, ugly Orlits ) were demolished in 2007 or thereabouts, and as it is a dead end for traffic, no-one drives along it, ever. It's possible to walk along and out the footpath at the dead end, but hardly anyone does.

The tarmac is broken up by grass and weeds, and covered in moss, and even a few saplings have established roots. There are remnants of concrete steps and paving but they are almost indistinguishable from the grass around and over them. Nature is taking over.

The council's plans for this precise spot are mysterious. There are two brand new, busy schools within two minutes walk. Planning is granted for an expensive private development on a green field a few hundred meters from here. Meanwhile, this single street stays mysteriously undesirable and unwanted.
