Deflated Diva

The forecast was for a very wild and windy day with terrific gales and winds up to 70 mph so Ollie and I went out early hoping to get a bit of a walk beforehand. Unfortunately the heavens opened while we were out! We got soaked but the worst thing was the wind, Ollie got blown over lifting his leg to pee and I could hardly put one foot in front of the other! Needless to say we didn't make it as far as the cliffs!

Heading back we sheltered for a minute behind the hedge in our neighbour's drive where I spotted this Diva - slightly deflated and battered, but well lashed down and snuggled in amongst his other boats.

Poor Postie had a hell of a day fighting through the storm, trying to open the van doors in the teeth of the gales and stop them being wrenched off their hinges, having to hold onto the van to stop himself being blown over and getting drenched into the bargain. Came home in the dark, exhausted. Ollie and I were here waiting for him, with his slippers, pipe and large glass of something!
