SUNBURST OVER PORT TALBOT

This photograph was taken from my bedroom window, which overlooks the whole of Swansea Bay and Port Talbot in South Wales. The view shows Port Talbot Steel Works, with its smoky chimneys, set out against the morning sky, and illuminated by the February sun through scumbling cloud.It is oxymoronic that an industrial landscape can look so very sublime from a distance across the bay. Every morning I gaze out of my window curious to find what the dawn and day will bring in light and colour, where I attempt to portray the same landscape over and over again. I love where I live, as it affords me this artistic opportunity at any time.
