Defence Boom

A new feature at Strathclyde Park is the new boom to 'sweep clean' the infamous algae problem in time for next summer's Commonwealth Games. The area behind the boom is now effectively quarantined off causing disruption to other loch activities for the next nine months. The cost benefit analysis must be finely balanced but The Games are a one off and the big picture benefits may be hard to measure in strict accountancy terms.
