Third Year Abroad

By LittleLots

Having only got to bed at 6:30am, needing to get up at 9 in order to check out was not greeted with the greatest enthusiasm... But it did mean that we had the whole day to see some more of Madrid before getting the coach back. Managed to do the Royal Palace and the Cathedral before lunch at TGI Fridays of all places. Then we headed back across Madrid towards Retiro park, stopping off at a few shops on the way. Bought the cosiest scarf imaginable from Zara that I'd been admiring for weeks, but it was the biting cold of Madrid that finally persuaded me to get it. Have not regretted it for a moment. The cold and rain was not ideal Retiro weather but we managed to wander around for a bit before calling it a day and heading back to the hostel to collect our bags and head to the bus station. I was determined not to have a repeat bus missing incident. But we made it, and found when we got back into Granada, that we seemed to have brought the weather with us. Damp and cold and set to be the coldest part of Spain in the coming week...
