Woven

This is a willie wagtail birds nest, I found it a few years ago lying at the base of a eucalyptus tree in the park across the road from where we live, no eggs around, I was hoping none were laid? And the nest simply became dislodged and just fell from the tree, I took it home it was totally intact, every year the willie wagtails come back to the same nesting area, they would have made another nest which was strong enough to hold fast in the branches, they return to the same nest every breeding season.
The way this one was woven by the tiniest of wrens and to stay intact after so many years is amazing, it sits in my basket of pine cones and other dried flowers, its so small it fits in the palm of my hand.
