Cousins reunion

These nine lovely people all share the same grandfather and grandmother. At full complement there were 12 of us, but one died just before we began the reunions and the other two are some way away, but we'll get them there sooner or later.

Back, left to right: George (Ray), Richard, Philip and Colin
Front, left to right: Pauline, Christine, John, Pam and Margaret.

Missing: David, who died, Trisha and Graham

We have a very special photograph taken in November 1958 of the whole Jones family - with nobody missing. Richard was a babe in Granny's arms, this was the last time we were all together like this as Grandad died the following March. I remember the day well as I was sick and you tell I was ill on the photograph. Perhaps I'll post it one day.

Looks like the family are keen to come down to Kent for the next reunion.

I posted a shot of Granny and Grandad Jones on the occasion of the christening of their first daughter - who unfortunately did not have any children.

Earlier in the day I went with Ian, Richard and his son Jacob to watch Shrewsbury Town play bottom of the league club Notts County at the New Meadow. I used to watch the Town play as a youth at their old ground, the Gay Meadow. An interesting name for a ground. Actually it was named after the Gaye Meadow which was part of the Benedictine Monastry of Shrewsbury Abbey - well known to fans of Brother Cadfael novels by Ellis Peters.

Shewsbury won, but only 1-0. The points very valuable and it was good to go and see a live soccer match for a change. Watched the referee a lot though!
