Common Ground

There's a little patch of ground in front of our house, shared by half a dozen neighbours (along with cats, dogs and squirrels!).

Today Katti and I decided to do a little bit of work on it, so we raked off the dead leaves, dug some holes in the gloopy earth, and popped in some bulbs - in the hope that some may blossom come springtime.

But the effort had a more immediate impact: first one, then a couple more of our neighbours came out to chat and help out, and we found much to talk about and share - common ground indeed.
