Nanou in Anjou

By nanou

One of the many minarets in Tunis.

Every night at dusk you had those vaporous clouds like huge cotton candies which, along with the calls of the Muezzins matching each other, made youme feel very little on this Earth.

A lot has to be said about the political and religious situation in the country after the revolution but I'm not in the best position to do that languagewise. All I can say as a personal testimony is that we never felt violence or insecurity or threats of any kind while we were there and that Tunisian people are very attached to democracy and eager to elect a proper governement who'll be able to establish a proper constitution. They're very aware of the chaotic situation they've been stuck in for two years now and concerned about how much the Islamists religious 'deviances' could do harm to their country. And they love to discuss that with us foreigners, everytime and everywhere, even in taxis.
