Police Scotland Day 229

Community policing...

Constable Mark McFern has been a police officer for 13 years. During this period, he's been a police officer in Stranraer, and a constable and detective constable in the Ports Unit, Stranraer.

Mark is the community police officer for Stranraer, excluding the town centre. He has responsibility for two local primary schools, where he talks to pupils about a wide range of subjects and also deals with any issues which might happen within the school. He also liaises with different local organisations and businesses to identify community concerns and works together to find solutions to the problems.
