Halcyon Days!

A perfect description for today, even though I stole the title from this little rowing boat plying its trade between Walberswick and Southwold on the east coast of Suffolk. The weather was beautiful with wall to wall sunshine and virtually no wind. We carred it today up to Snape Maltings where we admired the marshes, the Concert Hall and the 3 Barbara Hepworth Sculptures taken fom her collection "The family of Man". Then onwards to Walberswick where Rennie Mackintosh hung out and painted his famous flowers. It was a charmingly quaint little village right on the edge of the estuary with lots of coastal walks. The main roads here are very very busy so we came back by side roads and through the town Saxmundham. It has such an Anglo Saxon name we were hoping to explore the town centre but failed to find it. Perhaps there is none and it is just a junction of roads.
Have a good weekend everyone!

The object behind the the rower's left shoulder is a seagull!
