Camino de Santiago Day 12

Today's walk took Sarah and i from Ventosa to Azofra. Lovely countryside again, we are still passing through the La Rioja region of Spain.

We decided to stay at the municipal albergue at Azofra - it is modern and purpose built with cubicles of 2 beds. There is a bar nearby - the tables are, as with many rural Spanish bars, just plonked down on the street.

We went to get some supplies from the small village shop and the owner tried to persuade us to buy wine - unlabelled and instructions to return the bottle once empty. We declined politely.

One of the best things about the Azofra albergue was the small pool with lovely cold water to soak the poor aching feet.
