The fool on the hill

Goodbye John

Today was my uncle John's funeral. It was of course a rather emotional time and his kids did a wonderful and very touching thing by holding the memorial at the Leicester Tigers ground - John's passions were rugby and cricket.
But he would have liked this picture: Even though he was a quiet and dignified man he had a great and slightly subversive sense of humour. I learnt today that he would do things like greet his daughters' boyfriends, when they called, by opening the door wearing a pair of knickers on his head.
It was so good to see my lovely lovely cousins and their families. John and Lyn did an excellent job.
