Hill Top Ramblings

Sun down at Gait Barrows

What a strange landscape this is. The limestone pavements stretch away down towards the sunset, a scene that must have been here some 15000 years since the end of the last ice age. Some of the trees although miniature in stature may also have been here many thousands of years, growing by the most tiny amount with their roots buried in the rock and surviving drought by dying right back at times.
