Trans*/fest

Spent the day at this event in Birmingham - workshops, talks and discussions which were great. It's always humbling to hear stories from people who have gone through so much, and to see how well they are doing now.

I didn't intend to hang around for the evening do but I'm glad I did. This is 'Drew off they telly' as she was introduced. What I was really impressed by (but didn't photograph) were the burlesque dancers - I really admired their confidence. It was a celebration of real, full bodies, which was great to see. It's not my area of expertise, but I can't see the sort of female figures that are pushed in the media looking anything like as good as these girls.
