Bracken with Sika stag

This stag was walking stiffly, as if he were a little lame in one leg. Perhaps he was wounded during the rut. Or perhaps he is just middle-aged.

I had taken a couple of portrait photos of him with head toward me, but thought that the shape of his antlers came out better in this photo.
