Blue Sky Thinking

I take the expression to imply fresh ideas, positive aspiration, imagination, informed risk taking, commitment to new paradigms .............

I've been watching the third STV referendum debate between Nicola Sturgeon for the Yes campaign and Alistair Carmichael of Better Together. Like so many Scots I am an Undecided, so what I need is to hear strong, positive arguments from both campaigns, information rich, positive but appealing to the Scottish values we espouse. It is in our interest that debate is rigorous and powerful, but that it is between equals who have the strength and character in debate to avoid its pitfalls.

This debate was a walkover! Nicola Sturgeon absolutely gubbed (wiped the floor with) Carmichael. As I have written elsewhere ....

'(He) gave us nothing positive to think on! You really can't patronise the Dep. First Minister ... she's way too skilled. Fight positives with positives, surely, not with "You don't understand ....." to a woman with a brain the size of a small planet and superb presentation skills and who is part of a government that people actually elected! "

The undecideds of Scotland deserve better. At the moment only the Yes campaign is blue-sky thinking!
