New lens issues

So intrigued when my new Canon 44 mm prime lens arrived from far far away. But there are issues with the focus. Relevant firmware updates are only for the newer camera models, but maybe my local photography shop can do the update. So, here's playing with the (original) zoom lens for a little longer before i commit myself to a persistent viewpoint. Wonder if the same goes for my life...
