Chain

I was on the Balder today. Preps for the installation of the chain mooring of the Jack & St.Malo platform (seen on the horizon) are in the full ahead mode. The waterdepth is more than 2000 meter here, so a regular mooring is almost 4000 m long. Times 16 means an awful lot of chain. Kingsize chain. Almost 5000 tons of it, flaked out on the deck of the Balder.
