what a difference a day..

..or even a few hours makes.

when i took this i thought this would be my blip for the day, showing how much better laurie was today. little did i know we'd be in an ambulance a few hours later on our way to sick kids. it was just at bed time his breathing seemed harder, going between puffing and holding his breath, and i just panicked. think i was exhausted to and not being very rational. when we were in the ambulance and laurie was sitting there as right as rain, i felt like one of those people who call the police because they cant find their remote control.

anyway, he did need a bit of oxygen and at the hospital they gave him some steroids and an inhaler and were happy for us to go home after a few hours. in fact laurie was in his element with a big fire engine toy and fireman sam on a portable dvd player. the main problem in the hospital was now sam (the baby, not the fireman) who was not enjoying having been taken along for the ride, and was howling with tiredness.

we got home about 11.30. completely frazzled.
