Gently down the stream

Locking horns

Came across this brilliant bovine and his 2 companions today, sitting by the side of the road at Avington. They are wonderfully peaceable beasties and didn't a bit mind my joining them. Mostly they were just dozing. I liked this shot because the tree seems to have horns too, or at least to echo the shape of them. And when animals let you sit beside them it's quite a privilege really.

Apart from that I went into town to do ordinary buying, as you do, and got trampled underfoot by the Xmas shoppers. I could have locked horns, but.. that's right, I gave up. Going home and putting on the washing seemed more fun. Am I giving away the fact I'm a saddo? Oops!
