The big house

This beautiful house has been in the ownership of the Montague family since 1528 and is still used as a residence by Richard, the 10th Duke of Buccleuch.
The house has 7 courtyards (one for each day of the week); 12 entrances (one for each month); 52 chimney stacks (one for each week of the year); and 365 windows (one for each day of the year) We pictured one of the back approaches here. The roof of the house (1.25 acres) is covered in Collyweston stone tiles.
The estate include five very pretty villages that we often use for blip material, so we thought it was time we pictured the house.
