Timber

After part of a rather large tree fell on my home last week during a rather large storm, my thoughts were more about what timber I could salvage, more than the damage to my house. Damage was minor, but look at the lovely wood. The main log here measures about 30cm in diameter. This must be some of my family heritage coming out, with Dad who worked for a major timber company for more than twenty years, and parents and grandparents very able and willing when it came to woodwork. I still need to identify the tree. I must admit, that with 80% of the tree still up and with a long way still to go this summer, I am a bit concerned where the rest of the tree could land.
