The Spanish Gates, Breda

For the history buffs, take a peek here. It was around this time that the royal family decided that it would be much safer for them to move north. When they did, Breda lost a part of its significance. For me, though, the old charm is still there.

While the gates and the castle inside are hundreds of years old, the institution that is using the property is quite a modern one -- the Royal Military Academy, or, in Dutch, de Koninklijk Militaire Academie.

Very sunny day today; very un-December like. I'm really starting to wonder what kind of winter weather we will get. If today was an indication, I don't think I'll complain.
